| In May of ‘76 a pilot assembly plant was set up at Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, Devon. |

MIE sales and distribution moved to the Falcon Road factory, Sowton Industrial estate, Devon from Broadwick Street London and the stores from Walton On Thames Surrey. |

In May Hill-Rom announce the closure of MIE and on the 7th July the majority of the staff leave, with just a few remaining staff to finalise the closure |
