1938 Company formed by brothers H & F Talley, 10 & 12 New Cavendish Street, London, W1, England
1949 The Emotril launched
1950s Throughout the 50’s and 60’s MIE made a range of Anaesthetic machines like the Comprex, Cavendish, Weymouth, Wimpole, Salisbury, The portable models Enderby (named after Dr Enderby), Harley
1953 Everseal Facemask
1959 Johnson Infant resuscitation Cot launched
1971 Superlite range launched
1973 Launch of Cavendish 5 and Cavendish 4
1976 Superlite Exhaust valve launched
Mie sold along with Amalgamated Dental Industries to DentSply a large American Dental manufacturing company.
In May of ‘76 a pilot assembly plant was set up at Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, Devon.
1977 MIE sales and distribution moved to the Falcon Road factory, Sowton Industrial estate, Devon from Broadwick Street London and the stores from Walton On Thames Surrey.
Launch of the Cavendish 500 Anaesthetic machine
The launch of the first Lack circuit developed by MIE and Dr Alistair Lack at the Oddstock Hospital, Salisbury, Wilts
1978 June saw a new Managing Director appointed by DentSply
Launch of the Cavendish 250 Anaesthetic machine
1982 The rights to the manufacture of the Flomasta ventilator were purchased from Wilf Jones the inventor and then patent holder
1985 Carden ventilators introduced “Ventmasta”
1986 New Jumbo 90 Absorber launched
The Vapamasta range of TC vaporisers launched
1988 Cavendish 460 and 680 Anaesthetic machines launched
1989 Moved to new premises in Falcon Road just across from the old factory now used by Howmet
1991 Launch of Cavendish 460M and 680M replacing the earlier models
1992 January 1st Company sold to Gambro, Sweden and became Engstrom MIE, and a new managing director was installed
1994 In September the company is sold to Instrumentarium of Finland
1995 Jan 1st Company sold to Vickers Medical
Launch of Cavendish 460E Anaesthetic machine
Launch of the Flexima 2 Anaesthetic machine
1997 Launch of Falcon Anaesthetic machine
Launch of Hawk Induction apparatus
During this year the company was sold to Hillenbrand Industries USA to became part of Hill-Rom Europe
1999 Dec 99 the company Moves to premises in Exmouth, Devon this being a previously a shoe factory for Clarks
2000 In May Hill-Rom announce the closure of MIE and on the 7th July the majority of the staff leave, with just a few remaining staff to finalise the closure

A new chapter

2000 July 20th Capital Product range acquired by Anmedic AB and consumables by Intersurgical Wokingham
Anmedic UK office opened in September 2000
2003 Launch of Falcon Se
UK office at Intersurgical closed and moved to Hayling Island, Hampshire
2006 Falcon Kestrel machine ceased production
2008 Swift launched
Anmedic UK closes, September 08
Distribution of Anmedic products and full support of MIE products taken over by Key Health Solutions
